Art Fristad

Art was born in Los Angeles California in April 1940.  He graduated from Compton Union High School in 1957 and received an Associate of Arts Degree in Economics and Journalism from Compton College in 1962.  Art, an avid athlete, pitched fast pitch softball for over 25 years throughout San Diego and Los Angeles Counties.  Art attained the position of Staff Manager with American Telephone and Telegraph Company and retired after 34 years of service.  Subsequently, he joined the San Diego Padres Baseball Team as an events coordinator and personal assistant to the President and CEO of that organization.  He retired again after 11 years and moved to the Temecula Valley in the fall 2001.

Art and his lovely wife, Beverly, have been married since October 1963 and have raised two daughters.  Both daughters graduated from San Diego State University.  Elizabeth pursued a career in education and Kirsten became a Doctor of Physical Therapy.  Art and Bev have two other “apples of their eyes”.  A grandson, Zachary who attends high school in San Diego, and a granddaughter, Gretel who is a second grader at Linfield Christian School in Temecula.

Art joined the Temecula Creek Men’s Golf Club in 2006 and now is the Treasurer and Handicap Chairman for that group.  It was there that he met Charlie Pate and subsequently became interested in doing “something” for those in need, particularly children.  Art began taking an active part in the Wishes for Children Foundation in the second half of 2009.  He is the 2010 Treasurer and is looking forward to an active and rewarding future with the Foundation.
