Cynthia Tanner
When given the chance, a child has the ability to accomplish their future goals and dreams. Unfortunately, life happens, and not all children are given the opportunity to execute that notion. I volunteer at Wishes for Children to try and give a child a dream, a Wish. My name is Cynthia Tanner and I am from Red Sox Nation (aka, Boston MA). I come from a loving, supportive family- The Koufos Clan. Two brothers and a sister made for many wonderful memories, which we reminisce about to date. Throughout my adolescents, I loved to play soccer, the flute, travel and be around great friends. After graduating high school, I attended Framingham State College where I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design. A much needed spring break in my last semester of college, brought me to Las Vegas in 04'. Who would of guessed I would meet my future husband, and best friend, David. After graduation, I moved to NV and married the man of my dreams. A short time later, we embraced the most precious treasure to our hearts; my son Brady. We moved to Temecula, CA in 08' and through a conversation about charity work with my new neighbor, I was introduced to Wishes for Children. I sought out charity work because I wanted to use my time and talents to help others in some type of capacity. My first meeting with the organization opened my eyes to such honest, giving, thoughtful people with a purpose. Changing the lives of children, and being a part of such an amazing cause is exactly where I wanted to be. The first event I participated in was The Chili and Brew Cook Off, which I organized with fellow Wishes members, Gina and Stephanie. Charlie Pate guided the three of us in the execution of the successful event. A misconception of charity projects is that it's work. I found that the events I contributed to have been fun, rewarding, and ultimately beneficial for the needy children of the Temecula Valley. Copyright 2007-2009 Wishes For Children Foundation |
