Kathy Ellis

Kathy "Kat" Ellis was born and raised in the southern California beach areas.  After moving to the Temecula Valley in 1988 Kat quickly became involved in many civic organizations including being appointed by Supervisor Bob Buster to serve on the Family Life Advisory Council for Riverside County.  Also being an active participant in her children's sports she was the "Team Mom" for many soccer, little league, and ice/roller hockey teams, and coached junior bowlers.

Coming from a musical and artistic family, Kat's interest in photography came at an early age from the direct influence of her professional photographer grandfather.  "As far back as I can remember I've always had a camera in my hands." Her grandfather inspired her and shaped her photographic eye and instilled the disciplines and passions afforded in photography.  Whether it is still photography or video Kat strives to transcend the ordinary to create her own compositions that reflect the energy and unrepeatable life that flows into the human spirit.

Although based in Temecula Valley area Kat finds herself frequently on the road adding to her already colorful profession.  Among other avenues of photographic explorations Kat finds musicians to be her favorite subjects.  With her interest and enjoyment in live music throughout her life it was only natural to save and preserve the excitement, emotions, and performing energy by taking photos. It is not uncommon to find her in the front and back of many stages all over the United States capturing the movements, actions, subtleties and expressions of musicians doing what they love doing most.  She has worked with L.A. Women in Music, TK Promotions, Coalition of Songwriters & Music Organizations (COSMO,) Method Fest Independent Film Festival, and
other music/film organizations and artists.

Kat joined the Wishes for Children Foundation in 2009 after meeting Charlie Pate.  "It is very exciting to be on the Board of Directors for the Wishes for Children Foundation.  We have a wonderful "family" of dedicated people working together to help the unfortunate children and their families in the Temecula Valley."
